Thousands of Hassidics in the Mile-End

On Saturday May 5th 2018, thousands of Hassidic Jews from the Belz community and other Hassidim communities converged on the Mile-End in Montreal to celebrate the arrival of Rabbi Yissachar Dov Rokeach, spiritual father of the Belz community.

A night walk of about an hour followed the celebration held in a large tent erected in a parking lot of a Mile-Ex grocery store. More than 6,000 people then accompanied the Rabbi’s procession to his temporary residence on Querbes Street in the adjacent neighborhood of Outremont.
